Hi guys! I've recently been sharing some vocabulary cards and notebooking pages I created to go along with our Canada's Natives Unit Study. I hope they are of help to you. These notebooking pages contain a student version and a teacher version. The student version is blank and the teacher one is filled out just to give you an idea of some of the narrations the kids could include. But feel free to add your own information.

Some of the notebooking pages included are;
  1. Map of Canada
  2. The people (family, roles and duties)
  3. Shelter (how to build an igloo)
  4. Hunting (uses of animal parts)
  5. Transportation
  6. Clothing
  7. Title Page

I hope you enjoy these notebooking pages. Check out our first week here.

Inuit of the Arctic Week 1

Hi guys! We are officially back to school this week. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed some hands on activities for our Unit Study on the Inuit. Here are some of the activities we worked on this week.

We learned all about the Arctic Tundra and made a salt dough map of the Arctic.

I got the idea from Tina's Dynamic Homeschool

Once the boys finished their map they worked on a foldable and watched a brainpop video

You can grab this foldable here

Inuit of the Arctic Book List Suggestions

Hi guys! Today I wanted to share with you a book list I put together for up coming Inuit Unit Study. This year our main focus for history is Canada's Natives and Native Americans. To help me with this unit study I will be heavily relying on living books. So, I wanted to share with you my book list in case you want to do a unit study of your own.

Now keep in mind, what I deem appropriate for my boys you may not, so always check books before giving it to your kids. In this list I've included read aloud, readers, and picture book suggestions. Please don't feel like you have to use the books how I categorized them. You know your kids, it is just a book list do with it what you like :).

Islamic Studies Curriculum 2017-2018

Hi guys! Today I wanted to share with you what we will be using for our Islamic Studies for the 2017-2018 school year.

This year we will be covering the Seerah of the Prophet (SAW) from birth to Hijra. Here are some of the resources we will use.

These two books will be our main spine. When the moon split and My first Prophet
Muhammad Storybook. I will be using when the Moon split as my own resource and I'll be reading from the second book to the boys.

As a hands on activity the boys will color and add to our timeline these cards. You can grab
this on my tpt store.

once they are done coloring they will add to our timeline wall.

As a supplement we will use this The Seerah Trail Puzzle from the Learning Roots.

The boys will be using these binders to keep any note-booking pages, mapping activities, etc.

I am really looking forward to starting our school back up, how about you?

Seerah of the Prophet (SAW) Timeline Cards

Hi guys! It's been a while since I blogged, it's been a busy summer. Today I wanted to share with you some fun Seerah timeline cards we will be adding to our Islamic Studies this upcoming school year. The timeline cards are from birth to Hijrah to Madinah. I'll add the rest if we get to it this year.

My plan for these cards is, while I read to them, the boys will color one of the cards that relates to an important event and we will hang it up on our wall. The cards do not have dates on them, I didn't want to overwhelm the boys with dates and times. I just wanted them  to be able to sequence the life of the Prophet (SAW).

I'll share our entire Islamic Studies curriculum once I get it all sorted out. I hope these cards are of benefit to you.

I've added the file because there was a mistake on card number two. If you click on the picture above it will take you to  document that has the edited card number two and the link to the other cards.
